Truth Be Told New Orleans: Righteous Eruption After The Storm

Truth Be Told New Orleans: Righteous Eruption After The Storm, begins to explore the impact of sustained structural violence, systemic racism, and neglect (pre and post Katrina), coupled with disaster capitalism, that continue to wreak havoc on the health and wellbeing of New Orleans’ Black residents – resulting in a 20+ year difference in life expectancy. The short documentary, along with a second short, Truth Be Told Detroit: Making It Count For More, were created by The BLK+Cross, in partnership with The Center For Black Health & Equity, and Ashe Cultural Arts Center, and You Make It Count! – with the generous support of The W. K. Kellogg Foundation – as part of an innovative new approach to Community-Based Participatory Research & Storytelling for Policy Change.
